The practice opened back in 2000 when Willa and Rachelle started working together here at Racecourse Road Veterinary Hospital. They soon discovered their mutual passion for animals and in 2005 joined forces to make the clinic even better. Together they built a veterinary clinic that truly cares about you and your pets.

Over the years they have worked hard to provide clients and patients with outstanding levels of care.

They soon began hiring like-minded people to support each other as a team and to bring a much higher level of love, compassion and professionalism to the hospital. The hospital’s reputation has grown to the point of being so well loved by the community, it’s everyone’s favourite place to visit with their pets.

Love is a four-legged word

Our slogan encompasses everything we are about. Our doctors and staff truly love animals of all shapes and sizes and that passion is obvious from the moment you walk in the door.

We are the only certified Fear Free Clinic in the Northern Rivers region. Fear and anxiety in our patients can sometimes mask symptoms and signs of pain, disease and injury. For this reason, we do everything we can to make sure your pet is comfortable and stress-free.

History of the Clinic

Willa and Rachelle originally met after their families relocated to the North Coast. They began working at Racecourse Road Vets in 1999/2000. Originally the two girls operated the hospital together with Willa the practicing veterinarian and Rachelle veterinary nursing/reception. Willa and Rachelle soon discovered they had a common passion for small animal practice and together they wanted to create something very special.
In 2005 they entered into partnership and purchased the hospital from their previous employers. Starting out they worked very hard to provide their clients and patients with outstanding levels of care and service and the hospital’s reputation grew… The girls wanted to create a unique experience; they wanted to provide the very best professional services whilst keeping the personalised family connection for which they were becoming known for. Willa and Rachelle now support a very dedicated team of vets and nurses all handpicked for their passion and enthusiastic approach to veterinary medicine.
